Fairfax High School students have the opportunity to take Animation, the art of moving images as an elective. For students in the 9th-12th grades, animation offers another level of depth for those with an interest in art. At the end of the course, students will be able to use sophisticated software to convey a series of messages through moving images, type and effects. There are no prerequisite courses or skills to enroll, however instructor PJ Irving does give some insight to how a student will succeed. “Students must be able to deal with failure as it’s a natural process of any development of skill, work hard until deadlines, be willing to revisit work when needed, have autonomy when brainstorming and designing projects and be willing to practice skills,” said Irving.
