Ann Monday, former City of Fairfax School Superintendent and City of Fairfax Resident will become interim superintendent starting May 15
The City of Fairfax School Board has hired Ann Monday to be the Interim Superintendent to replace outgoing Superintendent Dr. Peter Noonan. Monday will begin her work as Interim on May 15, 2017 when Noonan becomes superintendent of Falls Church City Public Schools.
“Ann Monday is a strong leader who is familiar with our unique school system as a former Superintendent and City of Fairfax resident,” said Jon Buttram, City of Fairfax School Board Chairman. “In addition, Ms. Monday will also be an integral in our search for a new superintendent so we are thrilled she is returning to help ensure this is a smooth transition.”
Monday is a former high school administrator, Assistant Superintendent for Fairfax County Public Schools and Superintendent for the City of Fairfax Schools from 2007-2012. Since her retirement in 2012, Monday has been working with Hazard, Young and Attea executive search firm focusing on national superintendent searches.
“The City of Fairfax school system will always have a special place in my heart both personally and professionally so I am proud to return to help with their transition to a new superintendent,” said Monday. “This is a wonderful city and school district and I anticipate a high interest in the position.”
