Erin Lenart Named Principal of Fairfax High School

Erin Lenart has been named principal of Fairfax High School, effective today.  Most recently, Lenart served as principal of Lanier Middle School where she developed and implemented—with teacher leadership—a three-year strategic improvement plan that focused on literacy, student support opportunities, and an improved school climate. She also led the community in establishing Lanier’s Advanced Academic Center. Previously, the served as assistant principal at West Springfield High School and Thoreau Middle School. She began her career in FCPS as an eighth grade teacher at Thoreau Middle in 2009. She taught at the high school level in Georgia and Tennessee before joining FCPS.

Lenart earned her bachelor of science in English at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and her master of education in Educational Leadership at Trevecca Nazarene University. She is currently enrolled in the doctorate program in Education Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech.
