Professionals meet with students to discuss opportunities in their field

Fairfax Academy for the Communications and the Arts hosted its annual Career Connections Week last week. The Academy invited professionals to meet with students, hold workshops and make presentations. In some cases industry professionals used Skype to connect with students.

This annual week is part of the Academy’s commitment to provide students with not only the curriculum, but insight to their industry. Students

  • Musical theater and Broadway dance workshop
  • Set-up, finance, management of owning a recording studio
  • Hands-on workshop on studio equipment
  • Product photography for advertising
  • Careers in foreign languages such as Arabic, Korean and Chinese
  • Talent agency explain audition techniques
  • Social media and its impact on professional and personal life
