Virginia state legislators visit the Fairfax Academy.

Fairfax Academy for the Communications and the Arts hosted Virginia State Delegate David Bulova and Virginia State Senator Chap Petersen for a tour of the facilities and lunch with students and staff members. The delegates visit a school each year with a member of the school board for Take Your Legislators to School Day. This year, the focus was on the Academy and the many cultural art programs offered.

The group, including Superintendent Dr. Peter Noonan and School Board members Jon Buttram and Dr. Mitch Sutterfield, visited classrooms, spoke with instructors and had lunch with students where they could ask and answer questions.

The Academy is one of the shining stars in the City of Fairfax schools, offering a number of intensive study in subjects such as theater, dance, photography, music composition, television production, foreign language and fashion.
