Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts is proud to offer Arabic as a foreign

language class to students this year. The Academy welcomed instructor Christina Harb to the staff. Ms. Harb is from Beirut, Lebanon and earned her Master’s degree in Arabic from the University of Maryland. She’s taught Arabic for six years, teaching Modern Standard Arabic as well as the Levantine Dialect. Previously, Ms. Harb worked as a language developer for the National Foreign Language Center and a translator for the World Bank. Ms. Harb will present to the City of Fairfax School Board on Monday, November 7th at 7:30 pm as the Spotlight on Learning.
The Arabic class this month is working on calligraphy with an industry professional from the Smithsonian will be visiting the class to do an in depth workshop for the unit.
