FHS Students making bracelets

More than 300 students at Fairfax High made inspirational bracelets in support of A Place to Stand, a nonprofit organization based in Fairfax that provides food, shelter, healthcare, and job training to the homeless and struggling households. Local resources are listed on the bracelet tags and were donated along with food and socks collected by the students.  A Place to Stand was created by two teachers:  Richelle Brown, who teaches at Daniels Run Elementary, and her husband, Gordon Brown, who teaches at Mount Vernon High. The bracelet event was the brainchild of students in the marketing management class who organized DECA Days to raise awareness for the organization.
