FHS To Send Team to 2018 Virginia State Science Olympiad

Fairfax High School has received an invitation to the 2018 State Science Olympiad Tournament based on their results in the Charlottesville Regional tournament last weekend.

In the C Division, FHS will join Thomas Jefferson High School for Science Technology and Oakton High School for the state tournament.

Science Olympiad is a national program that emphasizes teamwork and a commitment to excellence while improving the quality of K-12 science education; increasing male, female, and minority interest in science, creating a technologically-literate workforce; and providing recognition for outstanding achievement.  Students are challenged in a variety of problem categories, including anatomy and physiology, astronomy, chemistry, coding, ecology, hovercraft, optics, remote sensing, thermodynamics, the solar system, and meteorology.
