How long have you been a teacher? 27 years
What is your favorite lesson of the year? Oh gosh – this is hard to isolate to just one lesson, but I really think it is workplace readiness skills that are taught all year. Students can benefit from learning to complete a job application or preparing a thirty page written business analysis.
What do you like most about your school? The Fairfax High School community is why I am thrilled to be teaching at Fairfax. The students, parents and businesses are all dedicated to the success of our high school students and marketing program. It really is rewarding to see so many familiar faces from our high school also working in the community.
Why do you like this grade (best thing about this age of students) My favorite aspect of teaching high school students is their genuine enthusiasm. I am frequently inspired by their excitement for all things – from attending a high school sporting or entertainment event to helping others in their community. I am amazed at how these students find the time to contribute all that they do to their high school and community.
One tip for parents: Listen to your children.
