The Fairfax High School field hockey team beat Yorktown on Sunday 1-0 to take home the first state championship in school history.
For head coach Amber Beaudoin, it is a well-deserved win. The coach is a Fairfax HS alumni and has been the coach since 2001. With over 300 wins and seven trips to the state tournament, Sunday's title is the first time the school has won a field hockey state title.
